I was wondering where the deer were this morning. Sonny came in out of his workshop to tell me they were out back laying in the snow. There is a mother and her young one. At first the young one had it’s head curled up. then I opened the inside shop door and it lifted it’s head. Sonny assured me that they were comfortable. Then he came in to tell me that they were up and looking this way. When I went out there were two more laying down behind some brush. They travel right beside our house and spend much time just out back. The pictures are not very clear as I took them through the glass and it was steaming a little plus the snow is still blowing pretty much.
Just when we think maybe this is the last of the snow, we get more. It is a blustery day for sure, but should end soon. It was too blustery to venture out, so took this picture through the front door glass. We are not minding it though as we do not have to go out in it. I pray for the safety of all those who did have to drive in this weather.
Let brotherly love continue. — Hebrews 13:1, 1 Thess. 4:9-12
Jonathan preached today on brotherly love. The Thessalonians, according to 4:1, were bearing that love, but his encouragement was that they do so more and more. As Christians, God lives in us to love through us. It is fruit of the Spirit that lives within us as Christians. Without the Spirit of God, we would love ourselves alone. True brotherly love comes from God.(Gal. 5:22) We are in constant battle against the flesh which tells us to do for ourselves instead of others. The best gift of the Holy Spirit is the gift of the Father’s love that he pours out in our hearts. His love comes from us effortlessly on our part. When we allow God to love others through us, we do not notice that we are even loving others, in fact we are blessed by doing so. All this is for the glory of God.
1 Corinthians 13 –
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.Charity never faileth.
This is good to measure our life with – how do we measure up? If we find we fall short, then there is forgiveness and help to change. God sent his only son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross and rise again and sent the Holy Spirit as the greatest demonstration of His love toward us. He is the power of the love we express with our words and our actions. Glory be to God!
It seems that all my pictures disappeared from off my blog. I started to put them back once and the next day even more were gone, so I have decided to start over. Maybe that was a mistake, as I am having a difficult time changing the favicon. I have tried numerous ways to no avail. I’ll get it figured out yet.
